Last year: The Cubs finished with an overall record of 3-17 last year while placing 12th in the NWC with a 1-11 conference record. ... Averaged 32.6 points per game last season.

Players to watch: Bridgette Janicki (Sr., Post); Tianna Langdon (Sr., Guard); Emily Van Liew Jr. (Jr., Wing)

Outlook: Coach Art Guel is excited for the experience his team gained last season, returning five seniors. That experience has shown in the team's ability and chemistry on the court together. "The basketball IQ is higher. The intensity in practice is good," he said. "It's just been a week but they're playing good basketball. They're good defensively. They're just much quicker."
