Coach: Bruce Shearer

Last year: Posted a 21-5 overall record last year en route to an appearance in the Class 2A State Tournament. ... Finished in third place in the NWC last year with a 10-2 conference record. ... Averaged 54.2 points per game last year while only allowing 37.5. ... Won all three of its game in the Class 2A Northwest District Tournament.

Players to watch: Olivia Capron (Jr., Post); Emily Agen (Jr., Forward); Tyra Lopez (So., guard)

Outlook: The conversation starts with the loss of Mariah Swanson, who graduated last year as the Skagit Valley Herald's Girls' Basketball Player of the Year. She was a dynamic threat that keyed the Tigers' offense, and replacing her contributions is going to take a group. "They're athletic and they're fast," said Burlington-Edison coach Bruce Shearer. "I think we'll have good team speed, and the girls are smart. They pick stuff up fast. We're on the fast-forward right now and they're picking it up." The Tigers certainly don't lack size, though, with two different players standing 6-foot-1. Burlington-Edison also has five different players that stand at least 5-foot-7.
