Coach: Curt De Haan

Last year: The Lyncs rode a strong postseason run to finish fourth in the Class 1A State Tournament. ... Finished the season with a 25-4 overall record, and a 10-2 record in the NWC, good for second place. ... Held teams to only 32.4 points per game last season, which was best amongst all of the NWC teams. ... Won both the Class 1A Northwest District and Class 1A Tri-District Tournaments.

Players to watch: Courtney Hollander (Sr., Guard); Karley De Jager (Sr., Post); Sally Vlas (Sr., Guard)

Outlook: Lynden Christian's girls' basketball team is primed for yet another long run in the Class 1A State Tournament. The Lyncs didn't lose much of last year's fourth-place team, and returning are seniors Courtney Hollander, who scored 9.4 points per game last year, and Karley De Jager, who averaged 7.0 points per game. "We got pretty good height and athleticism," coach Curt De Haan said. "We're also going to be a fairly quick team." Leadership-wise, De Haan has liked how his group has come together so far, and believes this team could replicate the success of last year's club. "If we play well, we could do some good things," he said.
