Blaine boys' basketball takes tough loss to Sedro-Woolley

Blaine boys' basketball lost to Sedro-Woolley 70-47 after the Cubs broke open a big lead in the second half Friday, Dec. 6, at Blaine High School. The Cubs had four players score in double figures, led by Jackson Price's 24 points.

"We played a good first half, it was back and forth," Blaine coach Shaun Pile said in a phone interview. "We came out with energy and held Price to seven points in the first half, but their 25-point third quarter opened up the lead and we had to play catchup."

The Borderites were led by Josiah Westbrook's 27 points. Westbrook also had 10 rebounds and dished out four assists.

"Josiah was a one-man show, he led us in just about every category," Pile said. "He rises to the occasion and does a good job distributing."

Blaine's next game is at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at home against Coupeville.
