Tree removal, pole relocation to start on Church Road project

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDDecember 6, 2013

FERNDALE - Preparations for the Church Road improvement project are expected to start Monday, Dec. 9, as crews begin removing trees and moving utility poles.

The $4 million Church Road project is expected to start in May to widen and add sidewalks to a narrow stretch of the road between Main Street and Heather Drive.

Trees will be removed first to make way for utility poles that are being relocated out of the main project area. The removal is expected to take a week. Utility pole and line relocation will take several months. During the work, flaggers will be on hand to direct traffic.
