Youtsey's double-double not enough for Storm

Despite a 28-21 lead at halftime, the Squalicum boys' basketball team fell to Cedarcrest 53-48 on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at Squalicum High School.

The halftime lead was quickly nullified by a 15-5 third quarter, in which Cedarcrest gained the lead.

"We just had trouble hitting the shot," Storm coach Dave Dickson said in a phone interview. "We had trouble finding a rhythm in the third quarter."

The Storm rallied back and evened the score with 2:30 left, but a couple mistakes doomed them down the stretch, Dickson said.

Blake Youtsey led the Storm with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

"He let the game come to him," Dickson said. "A double-double is a real nice start for him."

The Storm next plays against Ferndale on Friday, Dec. 6, at Ferndale High School.
