Allen catches on with Sioux City of NBADL


John Allen isn't expected to make his professional debut until Friday, Dec. 5, but he has already been a member of three NBA Development League teams.

Allen, the guard who helped lead Western Washington University to an NCAA Division II national title in 2012 and back to the national semifinals last spring, was aquired by the Sioux Falls Skyforce, an affiliate of the Miami Heat, on Tuesday, Dec. 3. He is expected to make his professional debut against the Tulsa 66ers on Friday, Dec. 5.

Allen attended training camp with the Santa Cruz Warriors after being traded from the Texas Legends, who drafted him in the fourth round (56th overall) in the NBADL's draft in only three days earlier. The Warriors wavived him on Nov. 18.

All Skyforce games are streamed for free on YouTube. Friday's game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. PST start.
