Concerned many have lost insurance

COURTESY TO THE BELLINGHAM HERALDDecember 4, 2013

Recently The Bellingham Herald published a report indicating that the overall number of people suffering cancelation of their previous health care plans is relatively few. Around the same time, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp pointed out that the actual number is about five million people - so far. That number will continue to climb. So, how does this relatively few five million compare to those who have signed up for insurance through Obamacare? Pre-Thanksgiving numbers show that 106,185 have signed up via various exchanges. Only one-fourth of those, 26,794 enrolled through the federal exchange. The ratio of cancelations to federal enrollments is thus 185 to 1. That is, for each federal enrollment, 185 have paid the price of losing their insurance.
