Coach: Scott Schroyer

Last year: The Mariners finished ninth in the NWC last year, posting a 2-3 record in conference, and a 3-3 record overall. ... Sehome started the season out with considerable promise, winning its first three conference meets, but a 0-3 finish to end the season was less than ideal. ... The Mariners, who sent three wrestlers to the state meet in Austin Vosburgh, Jose Ramirez and Devin Robins, only recorded one point and finished in 52nd place.

Wrestlers to watch: Austin Vosburgh (Sr., 170); Zach Zimmerman (So., NA); Jose Ramirez (Sr., 145)

Outlook: It's clear that Sehome coach Scott Schroyer is excited for the group he has coming back. Senior Austin Vosburgh was within one win at the Mat Classic XXV of taking home a medal, and Jose Ramirez, despite losing both his matches, looks strong at the onset of practice, Schroyer said. "I think (Vosburgh) decided and practiced like he wants to do more than that. He wants to be a guy that competes against wrestlers on Saturday and be a state placer," Schroyer said. Sophomore Zach Zimmerman has made quite an impression on his coach, too, garnering early praise for his performance in the early stages of his freshman year. Still, Schroyer would like to see him maintain that level of consistency throughout an entire year.
