Mt. Baker Ski Area will close due to weather, could reopen Dec. 4


After staying open for more than a week of skiing and snowboarding, Mt. Baker Ski Area will be closed Dec. 1 through 3 because warmer weather was expected to hit the mountain Saturday evening, Nov. 30.

The area is expected to reopen Wednesday, Dec. 4, according to a mountain report issued Saturday afternoon.

Forecasts anticipated 12 inches of new snow by Monday morning. Ski area staff will allow the snowpack to drain before grooming runs on Tuesday for the Wednesday reopening, according to the report.
