WSU fans collecting gloves, socks during Apple Cup parties

Washington State University supporters in the Tri-Cities are collecting donations of new gloves and socks at area businesses and during local watch parties for today's Apple Cup.

Cougs in the Community began its Paws for a Cause campaign to benefit the Union Gospel Mission.

Socks and gloves for men, women and children in all sizes are needed. Donations can be dropped off at:

w Kennewick: Tony Roma's, 8551 W. Gage Blvd.; The Country Gentleman, 9221 W. Clearwater Ave.

w Pasco: Gordon Estates Wine Bar, 5236 Outlet Drive; Broadmoor RV, 9145 St. Thomas Drive

w Richland: Frost Me Sweet, 710 The Parkway; Sunwest Sportswear, 292 Wellsian Way.

Collection bins will be picked up by the group Monday.

Donations also can be brought in during viewing parties for the rivalry game between WSU and University of Washington at Tony Roma's and Gordon Estates Wine Bar. Those events begin at kickoff at 12:30 p.m. today.
