What's closed Black Friday in Whatcom County

Schools, most government offices and some small businesses will remain closed Friday, Nov. 29, for an extended Thanksgiving weekend.

Most retail stores will open, many with extended hours for Black Friday sales. Most restaurants also will be open.

Grocery stores return to regular hours except Fred Meyer, which opens early at 5 a.m. Most banks will be open.

Whatcom Transportation Authority buses will run on regular schedules.

Below is a list of what's closed Friday. For small businesses or services not listed, call ahead to check on hours.

OFFICES, SERVICES

Whatcom County offices: Closed.

Bellingham city offices: Closed.

Bellingham parking meters: Not enforced.

Whatcom County Library system and bookmobile: Closed.

Bellingham Public Library: Closed.

Garbage: SSC and Nooksack Valley Disposal & Recycling will pick up on regular schedule but trucks might be early. SSC offices and transfer station closed.

Opportunity Council: Closed.

Boys & Girls Clubs: Closed.

SCHOOLS

Public schools: Closed.

Whatcom Community College, Western Washington University, Bellingham Technical College, Northwest Indian College: Closed.
