Map of marijuana applicants in Whatcom County

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDNovember 26, 2013

The map below shows the location of those who have applied to be a producer, processor or retailer of recreational marijuana in Whatcom County, according to a list released by the state Tuesday, Nov. 26.

Production is divided into three tiers, based on square footage of a growing operation: Tier 1 is less than 2,000 square feet, Tier 2 is 2,000 to 10,000 square feet, Tier 3 is 10,000 to 30,000 square feet. They are designated on the map below by a color gradient - the lightest green markers are Tier 1, the medium green is Tier 2 and the darkest green is Tier 3.

The Washington State Liquor Control Board is running background checks on the applicants over the next few weeks and will release a final list in February or March, 2014.
