No one was hurt in a mobile home fire Monday morning, Nov. 25, near the south end of Lake Samish.

Firefighters were called around 10:35 a.m. to flames and heavy black smoke at 316 W. Lake Samish Drive, Unit 18, said South Whatcom Fire Assistant Chief Rod Topel. They used extra caution because of a large propane tank about five feet from the home.

One resident, a woman, returned home while the fire was being extinguished, Topel said.

No one was hurt. But the home — a trailer converted into a stationary residence — was destroyed, along with everything inside.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation by the county fire marshal's office as of Monday evening.
