An early look at Bellingham Thanksgiving/Black Friday openings

Posted by DAVE GALLAGHER on November 18, 2013

I'm working on Thanksgiving/Black Friday retail opening stories this week; here's a list I've compiled about when the Bellingham stores are opening. It's a little fluid at this point, some stores could change the opening times, so I'll update with comments below. Let me know if there are stores not on this list that you are interested in knowing an opening time:

Thursday, Nov. 28:

6 a.m. Kmart

7 a.m. Big Lots! (open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., then open 6 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23).

4 p.m. Michaels (open 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., then open 7 a.m. Friday).

6 p.m. Best Buy, Walmart, Sports Authority

7 p.m. Sears Hometown Store (open until midnight, then 6 a.m. on Friday), Old Navy

7:30 p.m. The main doors at Bellis Fair open for a handful of retailers that plan on 8 p.m. openings, including Gap, Old Navy, rue21, Romy and Spencer’s

8 p.m. Target, JC Penney, Kohl’s, Office Depot

Midnight: Official opening of Bellis Fair. Anchor store Macy’s also open at this time.

Friday, Nov. 29

5 a.m. Fred Meyer, Lowe's, DeWaard & Bode

6 a.m. Jo-Ann Fabrics, Bed Bath & Beyond, JC Penney, OfficeMax, Sears Hometown Store, Guitar Center

7 a.m. Harbor Freight Tools, PetSmart, Rite Aid.

 8 a.m. Judd & Black, with doorbuster sale until 10 a.m.

Fairhaven holds an afternoon-focused holiday festival on Black Friday. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be greeting visitors from 3 to 4:45 p.m. in the gazebo at the corner of Harris Avenue and 10th Street; bring your camera for photos. The annual tree lighting is at 5 p.m. on the Village Green, followed by the Holiday Art Walk until 8 p.m.
