Man arrested for indecent exposure at Bellingham soccer game

BELLINGHAM - A 19-year-old man was arrested for indecent exposure Sunday, Nov. 17, after he allegedly drunkenly urinated in the stands at Civic Stadium in front of children, according to the Bellingham Police Department.

A custodian at the stadium tried to remove an intoxicated man from the stands several times but the man refused and cursed at the custodian, according to police.

The custodian left to call 911 at about 7 p.m., but before he reached the bottom of the stairs he heard parents yelling. The intoxicated man had started urinating in full view of the people playing soccer and several children, who ranged in age from 5 to 10.

Kevin Shinn was booked into the Whatcom County Jail for investigation of indecent exposure, second-degree trespassing, minor in possession and obstructing, after he allegedly lied to police about his identity. Shinn has had a variety of run-ins with the law and was convicted early this year of third-degree theft.
