Rave: 'Vanishing Ice' curator Barbara Matilsky deserves thanks

November 18, 2013

The new Vanishing Ice exhibit at Whatcom Museum is extraordinary, certainly the grandest homegrown art event ever in Bellingham/Whatcom County. Congratulations and thank you to all who made it happen - the artists, the Museum Director Patricia Leach and her dedicated staff, the sponsors and the community partners who helped extend the event beyond the walls of the museum to make it an encompassing community event. For the next four months, Vanishing Ice will stimulate our minds, inspire our imaginations and provide a feast for our eyes.

Among the many contributors, one person stands out like a shinning star - Barbara Matilsky, curator of art at Whatcom Museum and the force behind Vanishing Ice. Without her remarkable talent, vision, tenacity and courage, this many-dimensioned event would not be happening. Vanishing Ice is a singular accomplishment, the likes of which has never been seen in these parts. Thank you Barbara.
