BELLINGHAM - Sunday, Nov. 24, will be the last day to bring residential yard waste to the Clean Green Transfer Station for the season.
The station, at Lakeway Drive and Woburn Street, is open 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays but will close for the winter after Nov. 24.
It will re-open Saturday, March 1.
The cost is $5 per load. A load can be a pickup truck, garbage bag, trailer or bundle. Exact change is required.
Clean Green accepts:
-- grass clippings
-- garden trimmings
-- limbs (8 inches or less in diameter and less than 7 feet in length)
-- shrub and hedge trimmings.
Meanwhile, residents can have their yard waste picked up curbside through the food and yard waste services offered by their local garbage hauler, or they can bring their yard waste to designated facilities.
People can find those locations by calling the Whatcom County recycling hotline at 360-676-5723 or going to co.whatcom.wa.us/publicworks/solidwaste.
