Alpha Technologies acquires India-based energy company

Bellingham-based Alpha Technologies has acquired an energy company based in India with plans to expand in that market.

Alpha acquired NavSemi Energy, which is based in Bangalore. According to a news release, NavSemi Energy is known for its solar energy products.

"Alpha has worked with NavSemi Energy for several years, and during that time we've collaborated well together," said Drew Zogby, president of Alpha in the news release. "NavSemi's products and philosophy reflect our approach. Together, we expect to expand our market reach into regions such as India, where our joint technologies can have a real impact."

The Alpha Group is an alliance of independent companies that manufacture power products. The group has more than 2,000 employee worldwide.
