Evans carries Burlington-Edison past Archbishop Murphy


The Burlington-Edison Tigers defeated Archbishop Murphy 37-33 on Friday, Nov. 8, at Burlington-Edison. It was the Tigers' final game fo the season.

Eli Aguilar got Burlington-Edison on the board first with a 1-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Running back Jae Evans would later add a 25-yard touchdown run in the second quarter to bring the Tigers to a tie with Archbishop Murphy.

The Tigers were able to force a safety at the onset of the third quarter, and back-to-back 2-yard touchdown runs by Hunter Weber and Tanner Holmes helped distance Burlington-Edison.

The Tigers' defense, despite allowing 14 points in the first quarter, were able to hold Archbishop Murphy to just six points over the second and third quarter, the same quarters the Tigers were able to pull away.

Evans scored the Tigers' final touchdown with a 7-yard run in the fourth. He finished with a game-high 125 yards rushing on just 14 carries.
