Heavy border traffic expected for Veterans Day weekend

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDNovember 7, 2013

Expect heavy border traffic over the next few days as both Americans and Canadians have holidays honoring those in the military.

Monday, Nov. 11, is Veterans Day in the United States, honoring those who have served in the military. In Canada Nov. 11 is called Remembrance Day, and it honors those who have died in war and military operations.

Most government offices in both countries will be closed, but most retail places will be open.

Because many people in both countries have a three-day weekend, expect heavy border traffic starting Friday, Nov. 8, through Monday.
