Ferndale drops first-round game

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDNovember 2, 2013

Ferndale fell 3-0 in the first round of the Class 3A District tournament to Meadowdale.

With the loss, the Golden Eagles move into the loser's side of the double elimination bracket. To avoid elimination, Ferndale must win three straight games to make it to the state tournament.

The No. 3-seeded Golden Eagles next matchup is against the top-seeded Marysville-Pilchuk, who lost its opening game to Shorewood in penalty kicks.

The two teams meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at Marysville-Pilchuk's home field.
