Learn about Nooksack River recreation plan at Nov. 6 open house

BELLINGHAM - People can learn about the effort to develop a recreation plan for the Nooksack River during a Wednesday, Nov. 6, open house at Bellingham Public Library, 210 Central Ave.

The meeting is 6 to 8 p.m.

The goal is to provide guidance for recreation use in the upper watersheds while protecting and restoring habitat for fish and wildlife, organizers said.

The open house is hosted by the Nooksack River Recreation Planning Advisory Committee, which includes forest and parks service, tribal, recreation, environmental, community and small business representatives.

People also can provide feedback through an online survey at surveymonkey.com/s/uppernooksack.
