Quick trips a big part of Point Roberts border crossing

Posted by DAVE GALLAGHER on November 1, 2013

Earlier this week I wrote an article about the increase in Canadian shopping trips into the U.S. (link)

The Point Roberts newspaper All Point Bulletin had an interesting article based on the same report, but focusing on Point Roberts border crossing. (link)

The article noted that 43 percent of trips into Point Roberts were reported to be less than 15 minutes in duration, with many of the trips focused on getting gas and picking up mail. Only 7 percent of respondents listed shopping (other than mail and gas) as the primary reason they were going into Point Roberts, much different than the overall border crossing total.
