MAX PUCCIARIELLO

Mesmerizing, magical and imaginative, performing arts ensemble MOMIX defies categorization as easily as its dancers seem to defy gravity. MOMIX's newest creation, "Botanica," is presented at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at Mount Baker Theatre, 104 N. Commercial St.

MOMIX dancers conjure a world of surrealistic images using light, shadow, props, humor and the human body in a family-friendly show. The production features an eclectic score ranging from birdsongs to Vivaldi and follows the rhythms of the seasons, the changing shape of life on Earth, and the passing of a day.

The performance is enhanced by spectacular costumes, projections, and giant puppetry designed by Michael Curry, production designer for Cirque du Soleil, Disney and the Metropolitan Opera.

Tickets, $20 to $42, are at 360-734-6080 and mountbakertheatre.com.
