Sehome volleyball gets past Lynden Christian

Sehome volleyball couldn't look ahead to its big matchup with fellow undefeated Burlington-Edison because the Mariners had to take on another top team - Lynden Christian. But Sehome didn't discount the Lyncs, and got the 25-10, 25-14, 25-14 win on Monday, Oct. 28, at Lynden Christian High School.

Sehome's Taylor Lyall and Dani Johnson each had 13 kills, and libero Kendra Thomas added 14 digs. Setter Megan Greer distributed 34 assists and had four aces.

"We knew LC was going to be good, knew they were tall and we'd have to work around their height," Sehome coach Kristy White said in a phone interview. "We shut down their offense; they were on their heels a lot and we were able to pass and serve really well. Megan could not have run a better offense tonight."

Despite playing two top teams in a three-day span, White said she likes the competition and hopes it helps her team prepare for the district playoff.

Sehome plays Burlington-Edison at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Sehome High School.
