Sehome girls' soccer blanks Burlington-Edison


The Sehome girls' soccer team defeated Burlington-Edison 1-0 on Monday, Oct. 28, at Civic Stadium. Hannah Lauffer grabbed five saves for the Mariners in the shutout win.

"We possessed the ball well, they had a couple of good counter-attacks we had to thwart," Sehome coach Andria Fountain said in a phone interview. "Everyone played a pretty even game."

Emily Webster scored the game's only goal for Sehome, assisted by Marie Kochman. The Mariners managed 12 shots to the Tigers' six.

With the win, Sehome locked up the No. 2 seed in the Northwest Conference and improved its record to 11-2-3 overall, 10-1-1 in NWC play. The Mariners will take on Lake Washington at a time to be determined Saturday, Nov. 2, at home.
