Lynden shifts game against Squalicum to Friday

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDOctober 28, 2013

The date of Lynden's regular-season football finale against Squalicum has been shifted back to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1. The game was originally scheduled for a day earlier, but the move became possible when it was determined the game would not impact either team's playoff positioning.

Lynden (8-0, 6-0 NWC 2A/3A) has already locked up the NWC title and the top seed into the Class 2A Northwest District playoffs, where it will host Sultan in a game now scheduled for 7 p.m. Nov. 8. Squalicum (3-5, 2-4), meanwhile, has been eliminated from postseason contention.

The conference will still host six other games on Thursday, Oct. 31, as Lynden Christian will travel to Friday Harbor, Sedro-Woolley will host Burlington-Edison, Anacortes will be at Ferndale, Nooksack Valley will travel to Blaine, Sehome and Bellingham will meet at Civic Stadium and Meridian will host Mount Baker in Halloween showdowns that do have postseason implications.
