B y the numbers Acres of land managed by the National Park Service in 401 units nationwide. There are 14 park units or parts of units within Washington, covering more than 1.85 million acres. They range from 922,650-acre Olympic National Park to smaller parcels, such as the Seattle unit of Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, which is located inside a three-story building.
