Lyncs' volleyball wins on the road

Lynden Christian volleyball took to the road to defeat Friday Harbor 25-14, 25-15, 25-20 on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The win guarantees the Lyncs (12-1, NWC 11-1) a No. 1 seed in the district playoffs.

"It was a big game," coach Kim Grycel said in a phone interview. "We knew we had to win to get a No.1-seed."

Kara Bajema led the team with 18 kills on a 45.7 kill percentage and five service aces.

"She had a great night," Grycel said. "She was really tough."

Carli Tjoelker also contributed five service aces along with 17 assists and Madison Weg had 17 assists with six kills.

"The girls came out strong and were consistent even though we had a long travel day," Grycel said.

Lynden Christian plays again on Monday, Oct. 29, against Sehome.
