Work to cause 20-minute delays on some rural Whatcom roads

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDOctober 26, 2013

Drivers on some rural Whatcom County roads can expect delays of up to 20 minutes over the next three weeks.

Crews will add paint, pavement markers and rumble strips on several county roads to improve safety. The project includes Smith, Slater, Hannegan, Everson-Goshen and Birch Bay-Lynden roads.

Work will take place during daylight hours starting Monday, Oct. 28, and continue for about three weeks.

Also, crews will repair the pavement at Axton Road and Northwest Drive starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 30-31. The county Public Works Department recommends avoiding that intersection. Details: 360-715-7450.
