Quesada records hat trick as Blaine tops Sedro-Woolley


The Blaine girls' soccer team defeated Sedro-Woolley 5-1 on Thursday, Oct. 24, in a Northwest Conference matchup at Sedro-Woolley.

Ashley Quesada scored the Borderites' first two goals, getting assists from Olivia Olason and Caylie Sharp. Makayah Veliz brought Blaine's lead to 3-0, and Quesada rounded out her hat trick in the 55th minute.

"She lit it up," Blaine coach Kelly Tuski said in a phone interview. "She played her game today. ... Her creative game was amazing today."

Veliz recorded her second goal of the match to round out Blaine's scoring night. Sedro-Woolley's lone goal came in the 65th minute.

"Every girl from Blaine stepped up," Tuski said. "They all stepped on the field ready to win."
