The Meridian girls' soccer team played to a tie against Sehome on Thursday, Oct. 24, at Northwest Fields. Devin Grahn scored an unassisted goal for Sehome (9-2-3 overall, 8-1-1 Northwest Conference), and Haley Belanger evened it up for Meridian (11-3-2 overall, 7-3-2 NWC) in the 72nd minute.

"We played hard, I was hoping to come away with the win (before Meridian's late goal)," Sehome coach Andria Fountain said in a phone interview. "I thought we dominated most of the play, but they had some dangerous counter attacks."

Hannah Lauffer had six saves on seven shots for Sehome. Meridian's Sydney Gospodinovich grabbed eight saves on 12 Sehome shots.

"I would have liked to have more shots on goal," Fountain said. "They have a great keeper who you just have to get a lot of shots on."
