Sehome volleyball sweeps Meridian


Sehome volleyball cruised to a win over Meridian 25-11, 25-10, 25-12 on Thursday, Oct. 24, at Sehome.

"We kept our errors down on serves tonight and had a couple bursts where we scored a couple points in a row," Meridian coach Shannon Claeys said in a phone interview. "Sehome has many threats from all over, they're a very good team."

Meridian's Claire Burkett had four aces and Allecia Galindo added 11 digs. Sehome was led by Kendra Thomas' 21 digs and Dani Johnson's nine kills and three aces. Erika Smith added six kills for the Mariners.

"We executed well, passed well, served well ... we only had four errors in 30 kill attempts," Sehome coach Kristy White said in a phone interview.

Sehome's next match is at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at Lynden Christian. Meridian plays next at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at home against Lynden.
