Many voters in Whatcom County may not understand that our vote this November is key to the decision on the fate of wether this project is approved or denied.
We have all heard many conflicting pros and cons about the benefits and burdens of Gateway Pacific Terminal. But what we need to understand is that us citizens do not get to vote on it. That determination is only made by the government agencies in charge: The U.S, Army Corps of Engineers, Washington State Department of Ecology and the Whatcom County Council. Any one of these three agencies can deny I's permit and stop it.
Voters need to be aware of GPT's impacts, both jobs and health and environmental impacts. Burdens and benefits.
