Scottish dancing competition in Bellingham this Saturday

Clan Heather Dancers host their annual Reel Scottish Highland Dancing Competition beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Whatcom Community College's Syre Center, 237 W. Kellogg Road. Admission is $6 adults, $3 children.

Clan Heather Dancers host their annual Reel Scottish Highland Dancing Competition beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Whatcom Community College's Syre Center, 237 W. Kellogg Road.

Dancers ages 4 and older, at all levels from across the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia, vie for prizes in traditional dances and contemporary choreography. Intricate footwork, beautiful costumes and live bagpipe music are all part of the event showcasing the athleticism and grace of Highland dance.

Admission is $6 adults, $3 children.
