Bellingham volleyball's late effort not enough to beat Burlington-Edison

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDOctober 22, 2013

Bellingham volleyball fell to Burlington-Edison 25-11, 25-10, 25-17 on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Burlington-Edison. The Red Raiders fall to 7-4 overall and 5-4 in the Northwest Conference with the loss to the Tigers (12-0, 10-0 NWC).

"As the night went on we got better. Burlington-Edison is a well-disciplined team," Bellingham coach Kim Bjorklund said in a phone interview. "(In the third set) we dug better and our serve-receive was better. We served tough. We just needed to pass better to run our offense."

Bellingham was led by Anna Zeegers' three kills and 10 digs. Olivia Bjorklund also pitched in three kills for the Red Raiders.

Bellingham's next match is at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at home against Nooksack Valley.
