Blaine girls' soccer controlled the game against Lynden on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Pipeline Fields, but the Lions got a last minute goal to end the game in a 1-1 tie.
"We controlled the majority of the game," Blaine coach Kelly Tuski said in a phone interview. "We were passing the ball around and playing a really composed game of soccer."
Blaine's goal came in the 29th minute when an Olivia Olason shot was deflected by Lynden's Emily Holt, and rebounded into the net by Gretchen Kordas. Lynden evened up the score in the final minute on a goal by Holt.
"Emily Holt seems like a good player, so give her some credit for that goal," Tuski said. "Our entire team was giving their heart to the game and playing a really composed game of soccer."
Blaine plays next at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at Sedro-Woolley. Lynden's next game is at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at Bender Fields against Ferndale.
