Supports Robbins, Bell for waterfront

COURTESY TO THE BELLINGHAM HERALDOctober 22, 2013

Do you want a waterfront that will make us proud and be the financial goldmine it could be to Whatcom County? Or, do you want a waterfront that will require every citizen to dig deeper into their pockets to pay for projects that will require a major tax subsidy?

If you want a waterfront that creates jobs, attracts tourists and produces the revenue necessary to support law enforcement, streets, parks and trails then I believe you should vote for Dan Robbins and Ken Bell.

To listen to their opponents, you would think that they agree with everything Ken and Dan have to say. Not so. They are supported by groups like Futurewise and Blue Green Waterfront Coalition.

There is a movement to create a "community benefits agreement." This kind of agreement may include things like requiring affordable housing on the waterfront or mandating the wages paid by business if they want to locate on the waterfront. Why not a skateboard park?

Vote for Dan Robbins and Ken Bell for Bellingham port commission.
