Happy striking faculty supported

It was heartening to see the letters of support Sept. 29 for the striking BTC faculty. I believe the authors of the letters were correct in pointing out how the faculty deserves to be fairly compensated for their hard work and recognizing that the only way forward for workers is through the solidarity of a strike. We forget the legacy of previous striking workers which has given us the minimum wage, overtime pay, workplace safety laws and a host of other benefits and regulations that have improved the working and social conditions of all our lives. The BTC faculty is taking on a struggle that doesn't just benefit themselves but will ultimately benefit future workers.
