Las Cafeteras share traditional and modern beat rhythms with timely stories from East LA's streets in a free performance at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 at Whatcom Community College's Syre Theater, 237 W. Kellogg Road.

Las Cafeteras share traditional and modern beat rhythms with timely stories from East LA's streets at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at Whatcom Community College's Syre Theater, 237 W. Kellogg Rd.

Known for their energetic bi-lingual performances, they combine Afro-Mexican (son jarocho), hip hop, folk and Native American sounds with a community- focused message.

Come out to watch the ensemble sing, dance, and do spoken word, all with a live soundtrack in English, Spanish, and Spanglish.

Admission is free to all, and doors open at 6 p.m.
