Lynden girls' swim just short against Anacortes.

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDOctober 15, 2013

Lynden girls' swimming fell to Anacortes 95-76 on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Fidalgo Pool.

Since Lynden doesn't have any divers, the competition was more even than the score looked.

"It showed we can hang in there with Anacortes," Lynden coach Linda Bode said in a phone interview.

Sarah Hollander was Lynden's performer of the day with victories in the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke.

Lynden was able to secure a win in the 200 freestyle relay, its only relay win of the day.

"The relays did their best times, but they have a lot more to give," Bode said. "We don't want to peak too early."

Lynden squares off against Sedro-Woolley on Thursday, Oct. 17 at the Lynden YMCA.
