Squalicum girls' swimming won every event on its way to a 138-34 win over Ferndale on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Lynden YMCA. The Storm's Maddie Dohm won the 100 freestyle in a time of 1 minute, 2.30 seconds, and was a part of the winning relay teams in the 200 medley relay (2:14.10) and the 400 freestyle relay (4:28.20).
Shaye Fowler was also a part of the 200 medley team, and helped the 200 freestyle relay team to a win in a time of 2:02.00. Fowler also won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:15.70.
"This meet Shaye had her best breaststroke time and she's getting closer to the state-qualifying time," Squalicum coach Steve Gibb said in a phone interview. "I'm hoping she'll get to that time for state."
Squalicum's next meet is a battle of two undefeated teams at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Arne Hanna Aquatic Center against Sehome.
