Bellingham volleyball hangs on to win over Anacortes


Five sets were needed but Bellingham pulled out a win over Anacortes on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Bellingham High School.

The teams alternated sets 25-18, 25-19, 25-17, 26-24 until Bellingham was able to snag the last one 19-17.

"We played five tough sets," Bellingham coach Kim Bjorklund said in a phone interview. "The team played focused and united. I was very impressed we finished with a win."

Kellie Hoffstetter had 32 assists on the night to lead the team. Anna Zeegers also added 20 digs to go with 11 service aces. Olivia Bjorklund was another Bellingham player with a strong match, finishing with 14 kills.

Bellingham (7-3, NWC 5-3) travels to Burlington-Edison on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
