Ferndale volleyball bests Meridian

Ferndale topped Meridian 25-11, 25-9, 25-9 for the 3-0 win on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Ferndale High School.

Abby Reid led the Golden Eagles with nine aces and at one point had 13 serves in a row when her team was able to rally around her success with serving.

Hannah Pitsch had six kills and Taryn Potter tallied five to get the win for Ferndale.

"We limited our errors tonight," coach Patti Hoelzle said in a phone interview. "We kept the ball on our side."

Libero Tori Fox is the catalyst of the Golden Eagles and success will be based off her and the consistency she has built on the team, Hoelzle said.

"We are still working out the kinks," Hoelzle said. "We want to be at peak performance in districts so we are figuring out who can work under pressure."

Ferndale (7-10, NWC 6-7) now goes on the road to face Squalicum on Thursday, Oct. 17. Meridian (1-8, 0-7) returns home to face Burlington Edison on Thursday, Oct. 17.
