The Bellingham boys' tennis team earned a 7-0 Northwest Conference win over Lynden on Monday, Oct. 14, at Bellingham High School.
At No. 1 singles, Bellingham's Liam Miszczak beat Lynden's Grant Wolffis 3-6, 7-5, 6-0. Red Raiders coach Steve Chronister said mid-match adjustments were key for Miszczak.
"Things weren't going well for him and he was able to make some adjustments, turn it around - good win for him," Chronister said in a phone interview.
Sam Ferguson, Charlie Carmichael and Greg Johnson also earned singles victories for the Red Raiders.
At No. 1 doubles, Connor Thompson and Nick Nolan earned a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Lynden's Dakota Davis and Ben Mulder. Nate Pearsall and Logan Schilder were also winners, and the team of Chad Cheldelin and Chris Nakatani slugged out a 6-2, 4-6 (11-9) win at No. 3 doubles over Lynden's Austin VanderHaak and Cody Engelsma.
"Third doubles, just a really good match. Those teams were really even," Chronister said. "It was good competition, really good action in all the matches."
