Bellingham airport on track for record year

Posted by DAVE GALLAGHER on October 11, 2013

While putting together the local monthly market report (runs on Sunday), I noticed some interesting info on the Bellingham airport passenger data, which comes from the Port of Bellingham:

-- 419,134 people have flown out of the Bellingham airport in the first eight months of 2013, putting it on track to top last year's record total of 570,577.

-- Allegiant has the most passengers, with 236,116 through August, followed by Alaska/Horizon at 177,255. With its seasonal service to Denver, Frontier Airlines tallied 10,563 between May and September.

-- It appears Frontier was pleased with its second year of seasonal service out of Bellingham. Looking at its website, the airline is already offering flights between Bellingham and Denver starting in May 2014.
