Meridian volleyball tops Anacortes

The Bellingham HeraldOctober 10, 2013

The Meridian volleyball team fell to Anacortes 25-11, 25-14, 25-12 on Thursday, Oct. 10, at Anacortes.

“We struggled with servicing passing, and it was really hard to get any offense going,” Meridian coach Shannon Claeys said in a phone interview. “Anacortes had some really good hitters.”

Amber Murphy led the Trojans with three aces, and Claire Burkett had a team-high four kills.

Despite the loss, Claeys was pleased with what she saw of her team following the opening-set loss.

“I think we made some good adjustments,” she said. “They started playing better as the match went on. We served pretty tough, too.”
