The Squalicum girls' soccer team defeated Nooksack Valley 6-0 on Thursday, Oct. 10, in a Northwest Conference matchup at Nooksack Elementary.

Braeden Hilleary started the Storm's scoring night off with a goal in the 10th minute off an assist from Kim Dorr. Rachel Dorr quickly added a goal five minutes later off one of Lauren Gibb's three assists.

"(Lauren) did a real nice job setting up her teammates today," Squalicum coach David Kish said in a phone interview.

Gracie Slater, Sarah Hulbert, Brittany Peters, and Kim Hazlett rounded out Squalicum's scoring effort.

"We moved the ball really well," Kish said, "and we had a lot of great opportunities to finish tonight."

Kish praised the play of Nooksack Valley's keeper, Cheyanna Maxwell, as well as midfielder Tori VandeHoef, saying both played "a really nice game."
