Lynden Christian volleyball beats Ferndale in four sets


The Ferndale volleyball team had its two-game win streak snapped, suffering a 25-21, 25-27, 25-20, 25-20 loss to Lynden Christian Thursday, Oct. 10, in Lynden.

Golden Eagles middle blocker Hannah Pitsch recorded a team-best 10 kills and added four blocks, setter Abby Reid made 28 assists and libero Tori Fox had 18 digs.

"All throughout the match we were point for point," Ferndale coach Patti Hoelzle said in a phone interview. "It was a good battle all the way through. Both our middles, Hannah and Brooke (Benson), did a good job of finding the open shot and provided a strong block for us tonight."

Ferndale (5-4, 4-3 NWC) hosts Meridian next at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, while Lynden Christian (6-1, 5-1 NWC) travels to play Lynden at the same time and date.
